Immediate past governor of Borno State, Senator Alli Sheriff who was accused of aiding and abetting the dreaded Islamic Sect, Boko-Haram has denied any link with the organization. In a meeting with President Jonathan in Abuja on Wednesday, the former governor claimed the sect had been in existence before he became governor in 2003. Senator Sheriff came out to clear him after the Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum, Lt. Gen Jeremiah Useni alleged that the former Governor used the sect members as thugs when he held sway as governor of the state.
